Finally, summer is here...and so are the chores!

Whether you love to visit the many road side fruit and vegetable stands we have in the Niagara Region or you enjoy the wine tours, site seeing, picnicking or seeing the Falls, there is so much to do during the summer throughout the Niagara Region. The Niagara Region is truly a wonderful spot to spend your summer. People have come from all around the world to see Niagara Falls, and all of the things that make the Niagara Region unique--we would encourage everyone to take a new look at the region you live in. There are so many great things to appreciate around you and perhaps now with Covid restrictions lifted, it may be the time for all of us to take a renewed interest in the spectacular places we have in the Niagara area and support local community businesses.

But, while we all look forward to summer for great weather, tonnes of fun, and our vacation time or staycation time, we also have to remember that with every season change comes home maintenance, and that means summer chores must also be done.

But don’t let that get you down. This is the one season, where being outside is usually preferrable and many of the chores, just make our outdoor living better. So, take some time each day to go through the summer home maintenance checklist, until you get them all done. After all, you want to protect your home – it is likely your biggest investment.

Just remember, that many hands can make lighter work, so try to get your whole family involved and turn the chores into a game. If everyone is having fun, no one can really call it work!

Always keep in mind that home maintenance issues can be unique to your property or home, so a general summer maintenance checklist is just a starting point. Take a really good look at your home and address the items that need attention or repair. Regular inspections and home maintenance can save you a lot of frustration and money later!

If you encounter something you are unsure of, or are not qualified to properly fix or replace, call a professional to make sure that the job is done right. Safety is everything and some things must be done by a licensed professional (e.g., electrical and plumbing issues, etc.).
